The St. Patrick’s Parade in Louisville, KY is one of the most beloved and iconic events in the city. The parade, which is hosted by the Louisville Irish community, is a celebration of Irish heritage and culture and attracts thousands of visitors from all over the world. The parade takes place on Saturday, March 11th, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. It starts on Broadway and Baxter Ave and ends at Bardstown Road and Windsor Place. 

The theme for this year’s parade is “Irish Eyes 2020” and promises to be a fun-filled and exciting event for the whole family. The parade will feature a wide variety of floats, bands, and other performers, all celebrating the rich heritage and culture of Ireland. Molly Malone’s Irish Pub is a laid-back and relaxed spot at 933 Baxter Avenue. Molly Malone’s is a favorite among locals and offers live music and a second-floor rooftop deck. The rooftop deck is a great spot to enjoy a pint and take in the views of the city while listening to live music.

O’Shea’s Irish Pub

O’Shea’s Irish Pub, at 956 Baxter Avenue, is a classic Irish pub located in the Highlands neighborhood. The pub has been around since the 1950s and was originally started as a cabaret by Mary O’Shea. Today, O’Shea’s offers live music, a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and a great selection of Irish beers and whiskies.

Pat’s Steakhouse

Pat’s Steakhouse is a unique spot on Brownsboro Road. Pat’s Steakhouse began as a coach inn and has a rich history dating back to the 1800s. The steakhouse offers dining rooms and an outdoor garden, and the original bar is from the 1860s. The steakhouse serves up a great selection of steaks, seafood, and traditional Irish dishes.

Patrick O’Shea’s

Patrick O’Shea’s is an Irish pub located at 123 W. Main Street. This pub was established in 2010 by the O’Shea family and offers traditional Irish dishes, Guinness, and live music. At 120 South Floyd Street, this coffee and bourbon bar is located inside the Cambria Hotel in the NULU neighborhood. The Irish-themed menu offers a slightly Southern twist, with whiskey flight options and half-priced appetizers. Other St. Patrick’s Day Events in Louisville, KY

In addition to the St. Patrick’s Parade, there are plenty of other exciting events taking place around Louisville to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. On March 10th, fans of Irish punk rock will want to check out Drop Kick Murphy’s performance at Paristown Hall. On March 11th, the annual Blessing of the Beer & Tapping of the Keg event will take place at Goodwood Brewing Company & O’Shea’s. This event is a traditional Irish ceremony that blesses the first keg of beer for the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.

On the 11th, The Ancient Order of Hibernians St. Patrick’s Day Parade is another must-see event. It features a parade that starts downtown and makes its way through the Highlands neighborhood. The Irish Rover will also host a St. Patrick’s Day Tent Party. This event promises to be a fun-filled and lively celebration with live music and plenty of green beer. Lastly, on March 19th, the 6th Annual Lucky’s St. Patrick’s Day Crawl will take place in the Highlands. This event is a pub crawl that will take participants to some of the best bars and restaurants in the area.
